Saleh Said was born in Zanzibar, and he spent his childhood in New Delhi, India, as the son of a diplomat. His entrepreneurial spirit started early when he opened his first company at the age of 17 after seeing an opportunity within the budding tourism market on the island of Zanzibar. He has continued to take calculated risks, learning and seeking new opportunities along the way. He has ventured into a wide range of businesses from owning a prominent nightclub and lounge to becoming one of the largest wine and spirit distributor as well as retailer in Zanzibar & the Tanzanian mainland. This came after fostering and creating the successful joint venture with MMI Dubai, part of the prestigious Emirates Group.

He was appointed as a Managing Director of PGL in 2012 and has played major role in developing a 1.6 billion USD golf resort on the island of Zanzibar. He has been part of the project since inception and his responsibilities include liaising with the government and planning commissions, negotiating with potential management companies and hotels, and identifying and negotiating with potential investors.
