Omar Romero is the Vice President of development at Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas.
He is responsible for the continued, sustained growth of the hotel and spa companies globally. The existing portfolio is currently in China, Oman, Portugal, the Maldives, Vietnam, Thailand, Seychelles and France. There are projects in construction and due to open in Cambodia, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Bhutan, Taiwan, Switzerland, Austria, Brazil, Costa Rica, Israel, United States, Turkey and others in China. With ten (10) Six Senses resorts, two (2) Evason resorts and 27 Six Senses spas, the brand will grow more than double in size over the next 24 months.
Omar has been with Six Senses for over 15 years with a decade of those years spent leading the development team globally. Born and raised in Mexico, he holds dual nationality Mexican and Spanish passports, as his family are natives of Galicia, Spain. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the prestigious Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland and a Diploma in Hotel Management from Les Roches, Hotel Management School. Married and father of three, he enjoys cooking, diving, traveling and reading. Omar enjoys learning new languages and is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English. He is always on a quest to find exciting development opportunities for Six Senses.
Omar spends a quarter of his time roaming the world, where he personally likes to spend time with owners and their sites. He likes to live and breathe the site prior to deciding its potential for Six Senses and enjoys educating all new partners in philosophies of Six Senses Hotels Resorts and Spas. His belief is in ensuring any new property that gets signed provides localization for all Six Senses clients and ensuring that each new opening sets a new standard for out of the ordinary experiences that would enable people to Reconnect with themselves, each other and the world around them.
