Norbert has more than 30 years of hotel industry experience in Indonesia, the USA, Germany, Belgium and Spain. He is a graduate of the renown Centre International de Glion in Switzerland with operational experience with Ian Schrager and Omni Hotels in New York City and various DOSM and GM positions with Shangri-La, Mandarin Oriental, Swiss-Bel Hotel International and the Intercontinental Hotel Group in Asia Pacific.
Since 2008, Norbert has been instrumental in developing Archipelago’s seven hotel brands making Archipelago International the largest hotel management company in SE Asia with an underlying portfolio of more than 200 hotels and a growing international pipeline including high profile projects in the Middle East and Cuba.
Norbert is also a hotel owner owning two select service hotels in Indonesia with a third one currently under construction.
Archipelago’s brand collection covers upscale 5 and 4 star hotels with the GRAND ASTON, ASTON and ALANA brands, luxury pool villas with KAMUELA and midscale to select service hotels with the HARPER, QUEST, FAVEHOTEL and HOTEL NEO brands as well as a trendsetting hostel brand called NOMAD and a high end vacation home rental platform in Dubai called MAISON PRIVEE.
