Managing Director, Investment Sales Asia

A JLL career professional, Nihat has been with the firm’s Hotels & Hospitality Group since 2002. With over 15 years of experience selling hotels and resorts, Nihat has conducted over USD 5.4 billion in hotel transactions to date across Europe, Asia and the Indian Ocean.

Currently holding the position of Managing Director, Investment Sales Asia based in JLL’s Singapore office, Nihat oversees a regional team of 12 hotel investment specialists. Since joining the Asia team, Nihat has been engaged in a broad range of transaction mandates for Asian and Middle Eastern clients across the region with an active involvement in cross-border regional investment opportunities and overseeing sales mandates in China, Hong Kong, the Indian Ocean, Japan, Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia and Thailand.

Amongst others, Nihat’s recent successes include the sale of Cheval Blanc Maldives in 2017 for a global record price per key of over USD 4.5 million; the sale of Grand Park Orchard Singapore, the largest ever hotel transaction in the city’s history and the largest globally in 2013, and the sale of the InterContinental Hong Kong in 2015, the only significant trophy hotel sale to have transacted in Hong Kong in over a decade as well as the largest single asset hotel transaction ever in the Asia Pacific and the second largest in the world.

Aside from his current duties, Nihat also supports the Asian desk of JLL’s Global Hotel Desk and focuses on the flow of Asian capital into Europe and the US. In his role, Nihat has led the marketing of numerous trophy hotel investment opportunities to Asian capital, including successfully transacting the Marriott Champs Elysees at a record Euro 1.7 million per key to a Hong Kong listed Chinese company.

A graduate of the University of Surrey, Nihat holds a first class BSc (Hons) in Hotel and Catering Management. He is a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and a registered Real Estate Salesperson with Singapore’s Council for Estate Agencies.
